The natural monument Toblacher See lies in the middle of the breathtaking Höhlenstein valley. It formed there after severe landslides and stone avalanches, which have since held back the crystal clear water in the valley. In summer you can whiz along in rented boats on its turquoise surface.

We were here for camping. The lake is a dream, almost paradisiacal. Very cold, but visually very nice.

The Toblacher See is a small, originally rugged alpine lake, which lies in the Höhlensteintal at an altitude of 1259 m in the South Tyrolean municipality of Toblach. The Rienza is its inflow and outflow.

Barely visible behind the trees, you will find a small bunker of the Vallo Alpino, the Italian Alpine wall, the gates are modeled on stones and make the camouflage almost perfect

The Toblacher See is perhaps not as imposing as the Pragser Wildsee,
but is always worth a trip.

Very nice place to take a break. Left behind the bunker are two old entrances (the entrances are closed with bars). Nevertheless, worth seeing 👍👍
