With the theme "GartenKulturStadt", BUGA Erfurt 2021 has committed itself to the city's long-standing traditions as a horticultural location. The garden show should be a blooming symbiosis - of tradition and modernity, science and education, horticulture and the beauty of the city of Erfurt. With their ideas and offers, the BUGA external locations bring even more diversity to the offerings of the BUGA year. With gardens and parks of historical importance and uniqueness, it should be possible to inspire even more tourists for Thuringia.

The city of Saalfeld / Saale is an external location with the park of the Villa Bergfried.

The park of the Villa Bergfried is almost a public park due to its size, but exudes a private intimacy through its individual garden spaces. Particularly noteworthy are the nymphaeum, the Japanese garden and the jewelry courtyard with its distinctive double linden alley, which leads to a cute little pond.
