As a place of pilgrimage, Kreuzberg has a centuries-old tradition that earned it the nickname "Holy Mountain of the Franks". The construction of the Franciscan monastery did not begin until 1677. Actually, the legend says, it was supposed to be in a completely different place, but the stones that were brought to the intended place every day were inexplicably found on Kreuzberg overnight again. So the monastery on the Kreuzberg was built and completed in 1692. The monastery has had its own brewery since 1731. The famous Kreuzberg beer is brewed here. Yes, yes, the Franciscans knew what was good even then. A stop at the monastery tavern is highly recommended.kloster-kreuzberg.de
