SAN IGNATIS BRIDGE
Núria's first essential services were established next to this bridge.
First there were some trees installed next to the river which, known as noc, were used to wash clothes. There was also a small mill, then the building of the first cafe, which dates from the last years of the 19th century and finally cogwheel train services that allow, among many other things, Núria to be an accessible place all year round, until and all in the harsh winter months. The name of Saint Ignatius is a memory of the Jesuit religious community that had been founded by Saint Ignatius of Loyola. These religious had taken advantage of the peace and tranquility of Núria to hold Christian training courses and retreats there.
