  • On March 13, 1972, U 995 was transferred to Laboe by two swimming jets and set down as a technical museum on the beach in front of the Naval Memorial. The boat was put into service on September 16, 1943 at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg. It belonged to the Type VII C, of which a total of 693 units had been completed by 1945. Until it was decommissioned on May 8, 1945 in Drontheim, Norway, U 995 was mainly used in the North Sea against convoys and escaping convoys and security forces.
