What today seem like a few lost walls in the forest was, more than **2,300 years ago, a genuine Iberian fortified settlement** of about 5,700 m², protected by walls and towers, with streets, dwellings, warehouses, and work areas.
Its inhabitants probably belonged to the world of the **Indigetes or Indiketes**, and Montbarbat was right on a border area with the territory of the **Laietanos**, who occupied a large part of Maresme. And here lies one of the keys to this place.
