The beautiful market square of Burgkunstadt is located in the upper town. On the north-eastern corner of the market square is the Catholic parish church of St. Heinrich and Kunigunde, which is well worth seeing. There are also many beautiful old houses around the market square, including many half-timbered houses. On the market square there is a monument to Saint Nepomuk, who was "active" here as a guardian for the water supply. In the western part of the market square (corner of Fliehgasse / Vogtei) is the German Shoe Museum.
