    Hiking

This is a close to perfection section of the Arizona Trail. The mountains are just unbelievably beautiful. The only challenge: there are no natural water sources, but there is a newly installed water collector in the middle of the section. Check the Guthook app to be on the safe side and take plenty of water from the Gila River.

Be aware of rattlesnakes. There are grassy sections where it is hard to spot a snake – and vice versa. In 2019 a hiker was bitten by a rattlesnake in these canyons.
