Vitt, a village that belonged to the Arkona castle in the 10th century, is now a listed building.
It consists of just 13 thatched cottages and a restaurant. The place can only be reached by car park, horse-drawn carriage, bicycle or on foot. From Putgarten, the village is about two and a half kilometers away. There you can also leave your car on one of the paid parking spaces.
Once in Vitt, all nature lovers and romantics are rewarded for their efforts. A must is also the visit of the small octagonal chapel of the place. It was consecrated in 1816 due to the efforts of the pastor and the poet Ludwig Gotthard Kosegarten. The poet was so well known that even the King of Saxony, the Duke of Saxe-Weimar, the city of Stralsund and the University of Greifswald participated in the construction costs.

Especially recommended early in the morning or in the late afternoon. Otherwise, at least in the main season quickly overrun.

Beautiful romantic located fishing village. From the harbor you have a great view to Cape Arkona.
