This is where the 22-mile loop into the Sage Creek Wilderness starts. You can park at the Conata rest stop on the Conata Road (509). There is a backcountry register, that you can and should use for safety reasons. Keep in mind, that there is no water along the loop hike.

You can reach the trailhead via Conata Basin Road. Here begins the 23 mile loop through Badlands National Park. Be sure to bring sufficient water and food as there are no refueling options available along the way.
