The Col de la Cayolle is a little known pass. Its name is not very familiar, yet it culminates at more than 2,324 meters above sea level and offers a remarkable panorama and very quiet roads.

The driveway to Col Cayol from Barcelonette is very varied. In the lower part you drive through a beautiful gorge along a stream. The slopes are very pleasant. After the entrance the actual ascent to the Col starts, partly through forest. Impressive waterfalls along the way make this varied. Shortly after the Col, there is another wonderful view to the south.
