The Ederstede in Waldeck-Frankenberg is a natural monument that provides an insight into the history of the earth. The rock formation, also known as Klingelstede, shows rock layers from the Zechstein and Buntsandstein ages. That was about 245 million years ago. It was formed by the Eder flowing past it. Several hiking trails lead past it, including the Ederhöhenweg and the Burgwaldpfad.

2.18 hectares. A rocky slope with a view of the Zechstein transgression on the right bank of the Eder approx. 1 km north of Birkenbringhausen.

We really enjoyed walking down a wild, romantic, narrow path to the Eder.
