The Swiss stone pine magic is a growing project and is intended to give visitors a better understanding of the stone pine, the queen of the alpine woods. The Zirbenweg was created in the area of the Graukogel mountain station at approx. 1950m and is very flat. It takes around 45 minutes for the themed trail, which leads through ancient pine trees (some of the trees are almost 400 years old) and invites you to rest and linger with special elements such as a snack bench, pine bed and pine swing. A round on the Zirbenweg is a real experience!
Studies show that Swiss stone pine reduces heart rate and is particularly valuable for health, which is why it is often used to build beds and furnishings. Not least for this reason, pine wood is now twice as expensive as fir or spruce, making it the most expensive wood in the Alpine forests.

Anyone visiting Bad Gastein should definitely take the Zirbenweg. Lavishly laid out and wonderfully situated, it offers many places to enjoy nature and relax in addition to the beautiful panorama. It is particularly recommended for families with children.
