Ostrachstraße, parking swimming pool, open during the day. Inauguration 30.10.1748 and 19.5.1940
Originally the Hindelanger Plague Cemetery was located here with a wooden plague chapel, which was consecrated in 1640 to St. Michael. The Archangel, known as the Guardian of the Light with the Flaming Sword, is the leader of the soul who receives the dead in Paradise and blows the trumpet to resurrection on Judgment Day. Between 1628 and 1635, around 1,000 people fell victim to the plague (almost half the population). A tombstone on the northern outer wall of the present-day church commemorates all plague victims to Anna Maria Jungin, who fell victim to the plague in 1635.
For almost 100 years, the chapel did her duty until on 18.1.1739 a heavy storm swept her roof. As the approval to rebuild drew, the pastor had 1747/48 start arbitrarily with the construction of a chapel made of stone. It was pretty, the rectangular church with three-sided choir and shingled roof rider. 1748 was the inauguration in honor of the Holy Trinity. The original name patron Michael immortalized unknown artists on ceiling and gallery parapet. The surrounding cemetery was used further.
Along the Ostrach, "man" was Catholic, so Adam Meier probably did not think it advisable to publicize his actual denomination. The locksmith from Alsace came to Hindelang in 1872 and is considered the first Protestant inhabitant. In 1912, 15 people met for devotions, which were increasingly joined by spa guests. The first official evang. Worship took place on 27.12.1920. An evang.Verein tried successfully to the introduction of regular church services, which had to take place due to lack of own premises in constantly changing places. Then Sonthofener pastor Hermann Heller was able to acquire the former Pestkapelle on 2 September 1939 for 10,000 RM (other sources say 8,000 RM). Same on 3.9. they celebrated the first service. The Holy Trinity Church was officially inaugurated at the Trinitatis Festival in 1940. In order to transform the church into an evangelic service, Br. Heller ordered an altarpiece from the then well-known church painter Rudolf Schäfer. Following a picture in the Sonthofen church, Pastor Heller wished the Emmaus disciples and the artist liked his work so well that he did not want to extradite it. It took several years before the long-paid picture hung in its place.
