To secure the state border, the Counts of Württemberg had a militia built between Heuchelberg and Löwensteiner Berge in the 15th century. In addition to the Landturm near Wüstenhausen, there is the better-preserved one between Lauffen and Schozach (at the garden market).
The buildings next to the tower are currently being renovated, maybe the tower too?

To secure the state border to the north, the Württemberg counts had a Landwehr built in the 15th century, the Württemberg Landgraben between Heuchelberg and Löwensteiner Berge. In addition to the Landturm near Wüstenhausen, there is the better preserved Lauffener Landturm between Talheim and Neckarwestheim (at the garden market) and the tower on the Heuchelberger Warte, which belonged to the line of defense. The highways of that time led through the towers. It was here that customs were levied.
