It is a true gem in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. Small and blue, it lies in an impressive alpine landscape of the Bernese Oberland.
Depending on the weather, the Oberhornsee dries out almost completely in late summer or autumn, as it is not fed directly by the meltwater from the Breithorn.
