    Hiking

Relatively well-preserved castle ruins. Definitely worth a detour if you are hiking through the Kajatal from the Thaya up towards Merkersdorf. It is not always open though.

    Hiking

Close to the river Thaya lies picturesque, in untouched nature, the more than 800 years old festivals Kaja. From the tower of the ruin Kaja offers a beautiful view over the national park area Thayatal. In the courtyard you can rest under a centuries-old linden and enjoy cool refreshments. Special exhibitions and documentaries about the history of the castle invite you to visit. But you should also have seen Palas, Fountain, Armory, Knights' Hall, Chapel and Dungeon.
