The bridge was unfortunately destroyed by the flood, the stretch on the left bank of the Rhine between Bad Breisig or Sinzig and Remagen is closed. Signs recommend that you use the paths on the other side of the Rhine. There are ferries from Remagen or Bad Breisig. There is currently no diversion to the left of the Rhine.

Unfortunately, the bridge is completely destroyed, and so is the next bridge. You have to make a detour through the flooded area, which was very uncomfortable for me personally. Because I only wanted to go through and wasn't there to gawk.
PS at the waterworks is a roadblock that is guarded, no getting through.

From the bridge you can see how the Ahr flows into the Rhine.

Full romance of the Rhine Valley; very nice, if you dive from the narrowness of the Ahr valley in the already quite large expanse of the Middle Rhine.

An der Ahr is one of the most important red wine growing areas in Germany. If you have some time, it is worthwhile from here a short detour to the west.

If you follow the official Ahr bike path to the end, you can not directly see the estuary. To get there just where the Ahr bike path meets the Rhine bike path turn right.

After 85.1 km the journey of the Ahr is over. Tip: Start from here and ride mostly on bike paths to Blankenheim, where the Ahr springs.

The Ahr wooden bridge is a very small quiet bridge where you can stop and just watch the water.

Still largely untouched Central Rhine landscape despite the densified settlement area.

In the natural estuary the idyllic Ahr flows into the Rhine, whereby a covered wooden bridge allows the crossing.

The way past the Ahr through beautiful nature is definitely worth it. And the confluence of the Ahr into the Rhine is of course a special highlight. Then you can take the ferry to Linz with the historic buildings and a romantic old town
