This small pass is wonderful as an alternative route if you want to avoid the many motorcyclists over the Jaunpass. The road is paved throughout and the small valley is very scenic. The route is also physically demanding because on the way from Jaun to the pass at 10.7 km, you have to overcome about 600 meters of altitude. The first 2/3 of the route is on a moderate 3-5% gradient. Only in the last third will it become significantly more demanding with up to 12%. The beautiful landscape compensates enough for the exertion. When you look around you shouldn't overlook the "cow-stopper" on the asphalt and run over it carefully.

A few years ago I drove over this little pass for the first time, on my own, so to speak. Now I've driven over it for the second time. Like day and night. It is a narrow street with a lot of passing places for cars and 10 cattle road barriers that you have to cross carefully by bike. With the Ebike I can cross with normal cars almost everywhere. The community of Saanen and neighboring tourist communities seem to have made a lot of propaganda for the pass crossing, as there was a lot of traffic with bicycles, cars and motorcycles on the little road. Even luxury cars from a rally were marked with special badges on the pass road. Unfortunately it is no longer an insider tip. Unfortunately, I also heard and saw the ambulance during a motorcycle accident in which the residents of the farmhouse next to it were also affected.

A beautiful road with almost no traffic apart from the local farmers
