The nature reserve Rauhe Horst / Schäferwiesen is located in the town of Lübbecke. It is located north of the Stockhausen district between the B 65 and the Mittelland Canal. It is approximately 196.2 hectares in size. The large contiguous grassland area is of particular importance as a breeding, feeding, resting and wintering area for endangered bird species such as waders and meadow birds.
