The Klingnau Reservoir is an artificially dammed lake in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It lies in the Jura north of the so-called water castle of Switzerland, on the lower reaches of the Aare just before its confluence with the Rhine and between the town of Klingnau on the right bank and Böttstein and Leuggern on the left bank of the river. The reservoir was created when the Klingnau power station was built in the 1930s. Today it is a nature reserve and an important habitat for many bird species.
