A mystical place.
The Wildweibchenstein is a striking rock formation made of granite blocks in the forest not far from Rodenstein Castle. According to legend, two wild women once lived in a cave here. One of them is said to have been very beautiful, which is why a hunter chased her. After reaching his destination, he, in true hunter fashion, forgot about the wild female and the son she had given him. Years later he returned to Wildweibchenstein and found his son and his mother there. His love flared up again and he took them both with him.
According to another legend, the wild females are said to have left their forest from time to time to be taken by the farmers in Laudenau.
