Church of the former Cistercian abbey Szentgotthárd is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Hungary. Built from 1748 to 1764. Architect: Franz Anton Pilgram, frescoes by Stephan Dorfmeister. The monastery was closed in 1950.

The Church of the Ascension is the third largest baroque church in Hungary and was built in 1748-1779 according to plans by Franz Anton Pilgram in pure baroque style.
The solemn consecration of the church was performed by the first Bishop of Szombathely, János Szily on March 16, 1779.
