These bunkers reflect the megalomania of that time. These were built in a relatively short construction period (also by forced laborers) and seem to be built to last. Some bunkers are still accessible inside, unfortunately many no longer due to explosions. A must for history buffs.

In Poland's forests, two bunkers are reminiscent of the Nazi era. In the "Wolfsschanze" Stauffenberg's assassination attempt on Hitler failed, in the "Mauerwald" one suspects the Amber Room. The forest in former East Prussia, which was the easternmost province of the German Reich until the end of the Second World War, is becoming ever denser. Today the area largely belongs to Poland. Near the town of Rastenburg, now called Kętrzyn, Adolf Hitler had his Führer headquarters built in the Görlitz Forest: the "Wolfsschanze".Between 1940 and 1944, a hermetically sealed and well-guarded facility was built on around 2.5 square kilometers: the site was impregnable.
