Please check local regulations for: Biosphärenreservat Karstlandschaft Südharz
The center of the Karstlandschaft Südharz Biosphere Reserve is home to a pavilion that offers one of the most impressive views in the region. The view sweeps over the foothills of the southern Harz to Kyffhäuser. Our tip: Try to find human habitation from here. Apart from the Kyffhäuser monument, the tower and the wind turbines, you can hardly see any villages. With such an open space a rarity in Germany, if you are not in the high Alps.

The beautiful view is on the hiking trail between Breitenbach, the rural community and Hainrode or Questenberg. As the name suggests, the view of the Kyffhäuser Mountains is awesome. Stamp location 210 of the HWN and she was voted the most beautiful stamp location in 2019.

Here you have a very nice view to the south of the Kyffhäuser, which is Germany's smallest low mountain range. Depending on the lighting conditions, it looks a bit contourless. Only when hiking from the north or from the Golden Aue does it become apparent how rugged the northern slopes rise from the plain. Not only the castle and the monument but the entire ridge is a very worthwhile excursion destination and worth more than a hike.

A hike in this region is simply a must. In good weather you have a great view of the surrounding area. Here is the center of the biosphere reserve Karstlandschaft Südharz. The hut invites you to linger. For the stamp hiker here is the stamp 210 Schöne Aussicht, the Harzer hiking nobility.

Most beautiful stamping point of the Harzer Wanderadel 2019, that's all you need to say! When the fruit trees are in bloom it is definitely a worthwhile walk from Questenberg. Wonderful view of the Kyffhäuser and the Kulpenberg! About an hour there and back from Questenberg, very family-friendly!
