Henriettenplatz (436.5 m above sea level)
This site in the Dreißigacker district was acquired in 1900 by Rechtsrat Dr. Adolf Braun (September 30, 1847 - March 3, 1914), director of the Deutsche Hypothekenbank Meiningen, founded in 1862, to create a viewing and resting place. The view of the village of Dreißigacker, the Gebaberg, and the Dolmar mountains were the reason for his choice of location. In honor of his wife Henriette (November 18, 1833 - September 22, 1919), he named the square "Henriettenplatz." It was bordered by five maple trees, and a stone table with benches was placed at its center. To provide an attractive access point to this viewing point, Adolf Braun acquired adjacent land for a path in 1903. On his behalf, forester Friedrich Hildebrandt from Dreißigacker planted black poplars on both sides of the path. This avenue has been partially preserved. In 1906, Adolf Braun donated the entire complex to the town of Meiningen, of which he had already been made an honorary citizen in 1902. (Text: Herbert Heinemann)
