Military cemetery from World War 2.
The President of the USA Ronald Reagan visited this together with Chancellor Helmut Kohl and laid a wreath as a sign of reconciliation over the graves.
There was a lot of public interest and contradiction, since 3 soldiers of the Waffen SS are buried there too.

The urban war cemetery Bitburg-Kolmeshöhe in Bitburg comprises around 2000 graves. The cemetery was laid out in 1930 as a memorial for the fallen of the First World War and is located near the octagonal observation tower made of limestone blocks, which was built in 1912.
