Not far from the regatta facility is the Regattaparksee with sunbathing areas in the northern and western parts. Here everyone will find a sunny or shady spot. The lake is 15 hectares in size and up to 15 meters deep. Good swimmers can venture to the bathing island in the middle of the lake. The shore is usually flat, which is ideal for families with children. For the safety of the many bathers on the summer weekends the DLRG Oberschleißheim, which has set up on the north shore in a lake hut provides. Right next to it there are drinks, snacks and ice cream at the kiosk.

The Regattaparksee - also known to many locals as the Regattasee - is an artificial lake in the northwest of Munich. Only the north and west banks are open to swimming. The southern third of the lake is a fenced biotope. The body of water was created as a quarry lake through the excavation of gravel for the expansion of the A 99.
The Regattaparksee is an extremely popular excursion destination due to its proximity to Munich, Dachau and the surrounding communities. It can be reached directly by car (A 92 Oberschleißheim/Dachau exit), and there are plenty of parking spaces available. A continuous cycle path runs along federal highway 471 between Dachau and Oberschleißheim, making the lake a popular destination for cycle trips. It can also be reached directly by bike from the Munich district of Feldmoching (the A 92 passes under it). There are no permanently installed sanitary facilities, but some mobile toilet cubicles are set up during the bathing season. There is also a mobile kiosk near the shore at irregular intervals that sells snacks, etc. offers. During the bathing season, the lake is sometimes overcrowded, especially on weekends and during the Bavarian school holidays. It's worth taking a detour to the Oberschleißheim regatta course, which is not far away. Swimming is permitted in a section of 200 meters in length.

Suitable for jogging in every season, for swimming in summer, in winter to find peace.
