Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Minister of the Environment Dr. Till Backhaus officially declared an 83 hectare forest area in Lubmin as a protective forest on Wednesday (28.08.2019). “The forest near Lubmin has a very special meaning for the town; it binds dust and retains noise from the neighboring industrial area, ”the minister explained the decision. Forest areas can be designated as protective forests in accordance with the state forest law. A total of 9 protective forests were designated with Lubmin, in which, in comparison to other forest areas, for example, no clearing may be carried out.more: umweltruf.de/2019_Programm/news/news3.php3?nummer=5093
