The sea lock in Hooksiel connects the North Sea with the tide-independent Hooksmeer. There is a wide range of activities for water sports enthusiasts here: the water ski lift and a surfing school are just a few of them. The Hooksiel Marina is also located there. In order for the boats to reach the marina from the North Sea, they have to go through a lock.
