The old rectory, a pastor's house of the Reformed congregation, is an important architectural monument in the municipality of Schapen and now serves as a community center. A historic brewery and an old village blacksmith's shop are also located in the vicinity of the old half-timbered house. The Schapen Local History Society has set up an exhibition on the history of the traveling merchants in the attic.
