The path is by no means "pretty wide". It does not even correspond to the minimum width that has recently been stipulated for newly built cycle paths. Just imagine how an MTB meets a bicycle with a trailer and at the same time you have to make sure that no pedestrian is riveted down. But yes, by German standards it is actually good.
