We also arrived at the said courtyard with the sign private property. There is no way to avoid the obstacle in a short distance. However, the path to the chapel leads clearly to the right of the house between the barn and the dung heap and we are not clear what frustration the owner, who grazes his cattle in the surrounding meadows, has gripped. In any case, we didn't believe the sign after talking to locals, who assured us several times that the way to the chapel was public. As a rider through half of Europe, I can sing a sad song about how often people create difficulties for others through arbitrary barriers, although that is certainly still harmless.
