Here you can take a look at the historic lock, which was first built here in 1602 and connects the Nieuwe Vecht with the Kolk van Koezen. It was rebuilt in 1877 and restored in 1987. One of them is the castle house "Het Nieuwe Verlaat", which is also worth a look. The place is ideal for a short break by the water or a short walk on foot.

After the digging of the Nieuwe Vecht, a new lock was built here in 1602. The oval shape of the lock chamber dates from 1877. The lock has been recognized as a national monument since 1998, partly because of the rare oval shape of the lock chamber.
The lock keeper's house "Het Nieuwe Verlaat" is located near the lock complex. In the 18th century this was a skipper's café.
