Calm lake with a walkable island on the edge of the Kocherwald. Today's idyll was created by an accident in 1895. At that time, the breakage of some salt pillars in the saltworks below and subsequent water ingress ("drowning") led to subsidence of the terrain, which over time filled with groundwater.
