The Altenberg tower is a newly built in 2007 with a modern and very attractive construction lookout tower on the Altenberg, the highest elevation of the Franconia region and the district of Schwäbisch Hall. The 38.3-meter high and located at an altitude of 564 meters above sea level Altenberg tower offers visitors a magnificent panoramic view of the Kaiser mountains of the Swabian Alb, the Hohenlohe plains, the Ellwanger mountains and the Ostalb. The Altenberg tower can be easily reached from the car park on the K 2633 to Hohenberg in about 15 minutes.

The observation tower is located on the highest point of the district Schwäbisch Hall in the midst of a beautiful, very wooded landscape. The panorama on the top platform is impressive and explained on the perimeter in engraved metal plates. Also, the construction of the tower made of wood is very worth seeing.
