Coming from Hannover, you can make a great loop over Messenkamp and Eimbeckhausen.

From Shortinho - The Nienstedter Pass is located in the middle of the Deister on the L 401 between Nienstedt and Egestorf am Deister. With its height of 277 meters, it is the highest in the Hanover area and longest with a length of over four kilometers with the road bike continuously drivable increase. At the vertex of the pass, the Deisterkamm, there is a parking lot, which is the starting point for numerous hiking and mountain biking trails in the Deister.
Even for motorcyclists, the Nienstedter Pass enjoys great popularity and is therefore heavily used within the week. Due to the noise pollution there is a motorcycle ban on Sundays and public holidays between 6 and 22 o'clock.

The Nienstedter Pass crosses the Deister and is the highest elevation (about 275 vertical meters) in the Hannover area. RR riders like to train here because it is the steepest, highest and longest route in the Hannover area. The autumn picture (with foliage) does NOT show directly the Nienstedter Pass (maybe Deisterkamm ?!), because the pass itself is a country road.

"The" way to cross the Deister with the road bike. Much easier than the Jägeralle in Springe, but still no picnic. Even for the beginner, the increase should be conquerable, since the slope is not murderous, but relatively long. The descent towards Nienstedt is a lot of fun.

Very nice climb, little traffic and good surface.
