The Brotjacklriegel transmitter has been on the Brotjacklriegel since 1951. It is a radio transmitter that was used a little later for broadcasting TV programs. A free-standing steel lattice tower 48 meters high was used for this until 1960. Between 1959 and 1960, today's 100 meter high reinforced concrete tower was built. Since October 2006 it has been carrying a 23 m high cylinder made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP cylinder), in which the antennas for the DVB-T are present. There is an adapter piece of 2 meters between the concrete tower and the cylinder.

A Bavarian Broadcasting station has been located on the Brotjacklriegel since 1951. The first transmission mast, a 48 m high steel lattice tower, was replaced in 1959 by the current 128 m high reinforced concrete tower.
