In the green area Kalendijk you will find the city park with remains of the former fortified city, water features, planted woods and marshes, and also the subtropical swimming pool Olympos.
You can walk and cycle freely through the nature reserve that is bordered by the Brusselse Poort, the Leopoldlaan, the Mechelse Poort and the Dendermonde-Lokeren railway.
Along the street Kalendijk there are panels with nature information.

The park area consists of two parts in which you can walk freely: the Daniel Schellekens Park with the Brusselse Poort as a monumental entrance and the William Bruynincx Park, which shows off the Ros Carillon statue by Marc De Bruyn.
