The Durbeketal between Altenbeken and the small town of Kempen is a highlight for everyone who loves quiet nature. Here, when you are in the middle of the valley, you can no longer hear any ambient noise and can just listen to nature. Where else can you find that - you can hear woodpeckers, sometimes discover wild boar and see one or the other wild animal roaming the forest. A really great piece of nature in the Egge Mountains.

The landscape of the Durbeketal is highly recommended, but the condition of the path is only suitable for cyclists to a limited extent. A short stretch near Kempen has been damaged by forest work and is not easy to drive on, especially after rain. Overall, the whole path is very uneven, downhill (towards Altenbeken) rather suitable for mountain bikes. You can also go uphill (towards Kempen) on a touring bike. Incidentally, the incline is moderate. And the great landscape makes up for the jitter.

We drove through the Durbeketal today based on the recommendation - with a "normal" bike this was a mistake. Thick stones, sections severely damaged by the forestry company - I will avoid this part in the future ...
