The Romans in the 3rd century had already understood that this place at 500 meters above sea level was practically unassailable, so they built a fortress to defend Romagna.
The name Montebello, therefore, does not indicate the beauty of the place but comes from Mons Belli, Monte della Guerra.
You enter the fortified village through a door and immediately everything appears for what it is: a small ancient world made up of low houses, a defense tower, two typical restaurants, the church of San Pietro Apostolo and then the Castle.
