Directly before the junction in the direction of Everstorf on the right-hand side is a 2.45 m high Mordwange made of Gotland limestone; also known as the stone of atonement. Atonement stones are medieval memorial stones that were placed in places where a murder once occurred.

Everstorf's atonement is the murder of Ludecke Mozelleburch. He was killed and robbed on June 22nd. Relatives then probably had the stone set up at the scene of the crime some time later.

To protect the stone from further erosion processes, a roof was built over it.

The atonement stone from Everstorf is considered to be one of the most ancient atonement stones in Mecklenburg. He also brings it to a remarkable height of 2.45 meters. The stone used to be on the side of a trade route that connected Lübeck and Wismar in the Middle Ages. A Wismar merchant was killed on this way.

Ludecke Mozelleburch was the name of the unlucky raven who was slain and robbed on June 22, 1391. “Pray God for him,” it says on the stone that relatives erected for him a few years after the deed. You can see, among other things, a crucifixion group, a praying man with a coat of arms and banners in capitals inscriptions. A few years ago, the atonement stone got a roof over its head so that wind and weather did not affect it even more.
