Megalithic Tomb Am Schießstand

This partially reconstructed grave can be found in the center of Dötlingen. At the beginning of the 20th century, the decision was made to set up a shooting range on the site. The damage caused thereby may have contributed to the documentation made in the 1950s, which brought to light a total of 12 hundredweight ceramics and a remarkable mountain stone chain as grave goods.The grave gives a good impression of a paving that has been partially preserved. The gusset spaces between the supporting stones were again filled with dry masonry, as it was in the original condition. The 18.5 m long burial chamber is only partially preserved. Significant defects are to be complained about, especially at the eastern end.

The location in the front yard of a house seems a bit slanted. As a resident, I would have set up a chic barbecue area here 🙃
