The Semberg is a hill near the village Schwerzen (municipality Wutöschingen) in the district Waldshut, Baden-Württemberg. The steeply sloping mountain on three sides offered not only a favorable defensive position, but also dominated the old route connection over the pass at Bechtersbohl below the Kuessaburg in the middle Wutachtal. Recognizable from the hill castle on the Semberg are still several wall and ditch and some other relics that suggest a locally significant (military) use. Archaeological investigations or even excavations did not take place. Hints can be found in the older literature, as in the past also wall remains existed and inspections allowed even more conclusions.
