The pilgrimage church in Waldkirchen is the "original parish" of the community around the year 700 and is popularly known as Petersberg. Pilgrims are drawn to the old pilgrimage site every year on "Peter and Paul" (June 29). The nave of the parish church was built in the late 17th century, the oldest foundation walls of the tower date from around 1600.
