Bike Touring Highlight
Beilngries has a beautiful old town, which invites to a stroll. In addition, the castle Hirschberg is a real highlight. The building, which is used as a conference center, sits enthroned on a mountain spur high above the city. The castle courtyard is freely accessible and worth a visit.Another interesting sight in Beilngries is the Brewery Museum, which is located in an underground rock labyrinth.
The entrance fee is five euros. The museum is open from April to October 31 every Sunday from 10:30. It also opens on Thursdays in August.
Worth seeing is the city wall with nine preserved towers, each of which has its own function. In the tower tower z. B. lived the so-called. "Flurer" (floor supervisor). He was able to observe the corridors and forests from there. Beilngries is the starting point for a variety of hiking opportunities (eg Dowsing Walk). There is a boat rental (boat trips on the Altmühl), a toy and a brewery museum.
