Very beautiful ruin of the 13th century castle of Lichteneck.

According to a local story, the lords of the castle at Lichteneck are supposed to have defeated their worst enemies, the neighboring Hohenbogeners, by a trickery. After decades of feud, the Light Eeks invited their enemies to conciliatory food and drink. The invitation was accepted completely unaware and an exuberant feast took place. While the lords of the Hohenburg were still dining on Lichteneck, the best knights of the Lichteneck attacked the neighboring castle and set fire to it. From the dining hall of the Lichteneck, the lord of the castle finally led his guests to the window, where they saw their castle sink in meter-high flames.
