Usually summit crosses are made of wooden slats or metal rods, the summit book is attached somewhere on the cross. On the summit of the Buchensteinwand you will find a completely different kind of summit cross: the accessible Jakobskreuz.
The cruciform building rises 30 meters and has four viewing platforms. You can easily reach them as a hiker and skier. In addition, there is also a lift for wheelchair users and people with physical disabilities. A magnificent view of the Kitzbühel Alps awaits you at the top. Just lovely.

Very impressive architecture of the 30 meter high wooden summit cross. The building can be visited in its entirety for an entrance fee. The summit with the Jakobskreuz can also be reached by chairlift.

The Jakobskreuz is a lookout tower and at the same time a walkable summit cross on the Buchensteinwand, a striking mountain near Fieberbrunn in the district of Kitzbühel in the Austrian province of Tyrol.
