Since 2009, the lookout tower has been enthroned on the approximately 445 meter high goat dome. In 2010 the building was completed with the assembly of the roof. The tower is 13 meters high and offers a great all-round view from the viewing platform. The construction was initiated by a group of committed citizens from Burghofen and built with the personal contribution of many volunteers. At the bottom of the tower is the Burghöfer Hütte. The terrace was added a few years ago. At the same place there was already a first wooden observation tower built in 1965, it was removed in 2006.
