De Stijl Totem by Boris Tellegen

The nicest and most beautiful way to cycle from Utrecht to Amersfoort is on this separate cycle path from Bilthoven to Soestduinen. It largely follows the track Utrecht-Amersfoort, and leads wonderfully through the forest, there are a few slight hills to make it interesting. No car traffic!

There are ten sculptures between Utrecht, the city of Gerrit Rietveld, and Amersfoort, the city of Piet Mondriaan. They mark the special bond between these two cities and are a lasting reminder of the celebration of 100 years of the De Stijl art movement (1917-2017). Its artistic legacy is now indispensable.

Artist Boris Tellegen (1986) designed the sculptures, each more than 6.5 meters high. They stand out as striking totems in the landscape along this cycle route, connecting both cities with a rich creative history and future

One of the most beautiful (undulating) cycle paths around Soesterberg. Connects a short climb over the railway to the climb on the Paltzerweg to the Soester Hoogte.
